Homestay is novel idea in Kerala. As a tourst destination Kerala is not so popular for home stays. Even we search in internet the results are not worthy and useful. Its also difficult to get homes for rent. Recently I have searched house for rent in US, the result is marvellous and useful. For example Rent Edmonton gives lot of information on their rental properties in Edmonton area of the state. As compared to these informations the information provided by our local sites are very less.
The homestays in Kerala is still sleeping behind the travel facilitators of the state. This will put heavy expense on the shoulder of tourists and foreigners. If they provide their facilities through the internet, then the tourists can approach the homestays directly and both will benefited mutually.

Presidents Trophy Snake Boatrace

The maiden President’s Trophy Snake Boat Race held on the Ashtamudi lake here in Kollam, Kerala on August 30, 2011. Preseident Pratibha Devisingh Patil was launched the President's trophy Snake Boatrace on Ashtamudi lake. In ataughly fought baotrace, Sri. Ganesh snake boat has won the coveted trophy and cash prize of 10 lakh rupees beating Devas snake boat that bagged the second prize.

Kerala or Europe?

Kerala, Gods own country has its own peculiarities and versatilities. The long beaches, backwater and hills are really panoramic. Is there any place in the world similar to Kerala? I am sure its not.
I think there may be places betterthan Kerala for nightlife, shopping or skeing. If you like night life, shopping or skeing, it is best to choose Europe. In Europe France and UK have lot of places for fun and visit. There are lot of churches and other monuments related with the emperor are in France and UK. By the arrival of Computer and Internet, scope of Tourism has increased a lot. It is very easy for a person to gather details either of a remote location or a popular place by browsing internet.
There are many web portals, which provides details of a bunch of similar categories of places or location. Recently I have visited a website which provides lot of information about plenty of hotels in Dublin. This portal provides details of hotels in Barcelona and even about the hotels in Israel. Actually this is a web portal, which provide huge information on the subject they handle. Varkala - Thiruvananthapuram

Varkala is a seaside resort and spa. It is also an important Hindu centre of pilgrimage. The final resting place of the great social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru, is near Varkala, atop a hill called Sivagiri. High cliffs with mineral springs rise majestically from the coastline. According to a myth, sage Narada was approached by a group of mendicants who confessed to having sinned. Narada threw his valkkalam (cloth made of the bark of a tree) into the air, and the place where it landed was subsequently named Varkala. The mendicants were directed by Narada to offer their prayers in the newly created place by the seashore. The place where they prayed for redemption, came to be known as the Papanasham Beach (Papanasham means redemption from sins). The 2000 year old Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple and the Nature Cure Centre are the two main attractions here. A century old tunnel is another attraction.

Athirapally waterfalls - Thrissur

Athirapally waterfalls is located in the district Thrissur. At the entrance to the Sholayar ranges, this 80 foot high waterfall is a popular picnic spot. It is 60KM away from Thrissur

Palaruvi waterfalls - Kollam
